My experience
I visited the island in June when the weather was pleasantly mild rather than warm. Since I spent most of my time in the cooler mountains, the day I visited Seixal Black Sand Beach was no exception. In the morning, we hiked the Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo PR1 trail, which truly became the highlight of my Madeira experience. After finishing our hike, we headed straight to the beach to relax.
At the beach, we encountered a mix of sunshine, clouds, and a bit of wind. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed the stunning scenery. Although the ocean was cold, the breathtaking views more than made up for it. On the right side of the beach, we discovered a small waterfall that added an extra charm to this already beautiful spot. Rugged, green mountains surround one side of the beach, and in the distance, we could see a large waterfall. Directly behind the beach lies Seixal City, and to the left, we found a large natural swimming pool, which you can also enjoy for free.
All in all, I really enjoyed my time at the black sand beach. I loved the contrast it created with the wild nature.
